Inspiration, creative practice

Through the use of line and colour my art work predominantly depicts narratives about the relationships between people and their day to day activities and environment. I am interested in developing increasingly abstract ways of communicating feelings of the human condition such as closeness and distance, struggle, warmth and humour. Rather than plan a work in too much detail I allow it to develop in much the same way as I see life – a continuous journey of discovery and of resolving tensions between freedom and grounded security, of closeness to others and independence.
