Qualifications

• Graduate Diploma – Art, Craft and Design, University of Tasmania.

Medium

• Pastel, and conte drawings, mixed media paintings and oil stick on canvas.

Inspiration, creative practice

Sensual, earthy and erotic the basis of my artwork is primarily the nude figure, both male and female, with the current focus on torsos. Skin and muscles fascinate me. I love to mould the shapes of the body with pastel, as it is such a tactile medium enabling me to create the subtle silkiness of the skin and softness of the form.

I am interested in the sensuality of dance and my work is heavily influenced by the music I listen to when I draw or paint. Sexual chemistry and seduction are ongoing themes, with many of the images exploring the body language of this connection.
