Inspiration, creative practice
I work in figurative style and whilst the images are derived mostly from my imagination, I also draw on my personal experiences for inspiration. I am particularly interested in creating a mood in my artwork, sometime reflective, sometime passive and quite often ambiguous or mysterious. I would like to leave the meaning open to the viewer’s interpretation, a story that is not quite resolved or only hinted at. The stories I tell deal with relationships, not only human but also between various species of nature.
My style and creativity have been strongly influenced by different cultures' arts and traditions, in particular by folk arts of Eastern Europe.
